Maria Bonita, located in Orem, is known for their authentic Mexican food, large portions and welcoming atmosphere. Their philosophy is that you’re part of their family once you enter as they often say “mi casa es su casa”. The friendly owner, Tony, chose the name “Maria Bonita” to honor his mother’s dearest friend.
As a kid, Maria Bonita would cook for Tony’s entire family, creating unforgettable dishes. After Tony’s mother passed away, Maria Bonita became a very special mother-like figure to their family, which resulted in Tony and his brother opening their restaurant to recreate those precious memories and meals. The aesthetics of the restaurant is cozy and you can’t help but feel at home when you first step inside. When you arrive, Maria Bonita herself will greet you with a warm hug and refer to you, as she does with everyone, as “my champion.”
There is nothing better than sitting down and enjoying amazing food while feeling like a member of their family. The menu is packed full of authentic family recipes with very generous portions. Choose anything from fajitas to flautas or try one of their combination plates if you have trouble deciding what to get. Of course, they have great drink options too, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. A local favorite is their Piña Colada in a frozen pineapple (that by itself is almost a meal - it's huge and well worth it!).
