Hello, Travelers! Embarking on your journey from the Salt Lake City Airport to Provo has never been easier. Follow our simple guide, and you'll be exploring Provo in no time.


Step 1: Arrival at Salt Lake City Airport

As soon as you land at the Salt Lake City Airport:

  • Collect Your Luggage: Retrieve your bags and head to the ground floor.
  • Find the Light Rail Station: Use the elevator or escalator and follow the clear signage to the light rail station.

Step 2: Purchasing Your Ticket

  • Location: Walk outside towards pillar 2A, where you will find ticket booths.
  • Ticket Machines: Use the machines at the airport station to purchase your ticket.
  • Ticket Selection:
    • Click 'FrontRunner One Way Full Fare' (select 'Reduced Fare' if applicable).
    • Choose North Temple as your starting station.
    • Select Provo Central as your destination.
  • Payment: UTA accepts credit cards, debit cards, and cash.

Step 3: Your Journey to Provo

  • Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • First Leg: TRAX Green Line
    • Departs every 15 minutes before 7 PM and every 30 minutes after 7 PM.
    • Travel for five stops to the North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe stop.
  • Transfer to FrontRunner:
    • Exit the train, cross the tracks, and head to the North Temple FrontRunner station.
    • FrontRunner departs every 30 minutes midday and hourly otherwise.
  • Second Leg: Southbound Train
    • Located on the east side of the station.
    • The ride to Provo lasts around 70 minutes.

Arriving at Provo

  • No Service on Sundays: Plan accordingly, as FrontRunner doesn't operate on Sundays.
  • Group Travel: Consider a UTA Group Pass for $15, allowing up to four people unlimited access to TRAX, FrontRunner, and local buses for a day.
  • Local Transportation: In Provo, transfer to the UBS, a free bus line connecting you to major attractions like downtown Provo and BYU.
