Caru Das has hosted the Annual Festival of India in Spanish Fork for the last 36 years. It is the largest color festival in North America. In 2012, he started organizing additional Annual Color Festivals in Los Angeles, Riverside, SF Valley, Las Vegas, Ogden and Salt Lake City.

He was initiated by AC Bhaktivendata Prabhupada in May 1970 in Australia. He was President of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Hare Krishna Temples 1970-1975, then President of the Berkley Hare Krishna Temple 1975-1978. He was involved with the traveling Festival of India 1979-1981 and was the Los Angeles Temple Life Membership Director 1979-1989. He started KHQN Krishna Radio in Spanish Fork Utah in 1981 and he opened the Krishna Temple in Salt Lake City in 2019.
