  • Overview
Situated in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountain Range, the city of Elk Ridge is a little over four miles southeast of Salem and is just south of Woodland Hills. Prior to its incorporation on December 22, 1976, Elk Ridge was known as the Salem Hills subdivision. The name Elk Ridge was chosen for this community due to elk herds that winter on the town borders. In the past decade the population of this town has more than doubled reaching approximately 2,363 residents in 2002. 70% of the residents in Elk Ridge are married, so the city is considered a family town.
