    BYU's Museum of Peoples and Cultures researches, preserves, and exhibits artifacts from cultures past and present, housing over 1 million anthropological items from all around the world. The museum began as a repository for the Department of Anthropology, whose expeditions were actively generating collections as early as the 1960s. All exhibitions, programs, and events are created by Brigham Young University students and are designed to educate visitors about culture in engaging and meaningful ways.
