There is the cutest experience for cow lovers down in Spanish Fork. Liberty Farms raises highland cows and lets you book an experience where you can spend time with the cows. You might think that this isn’t for you, but once you get out in that field and the cows all want to snuggle you while you brush them, your heart will melt a little bit. Here’s everything you need to know about cuddling a cow at Utah Cow Cuddle

Book An Appointment
Utah Cow Cuddle only has certain times for appointments, so make sure to book a time before driving all the way out to the farm. The cost is $18/person for 30 minutes with the cows. You can also purchase extra feed if you’d like to feed the cows, sheep, or chickens. We did all three extra feedings, and these experiences are especially great for kids. It’s a great way to interact with the animals.

Cuddle a Cow
Once you arrive at Liberty Farms, you will watch a super-informative safety video. It gives you lots of tips for staying safe around the cows. They are large and can knock you right over, so make sure to pay attention. Then our guide walked us out to the cow field. Our guide stayed with us the entire time and helped us know which cows were in good moods that day. She also took pictures for us!

The cows were all eating when we visited, so they were not interested in sitting down next to us, but we didn’t mind. We each had a brush to comb their fur, and they loved it. Some of them would nuzzle us to continue if we stopped. There were a few babies when we visited, and of course, they were the highlight. The babies are extra soft and fluffy, and they loved the attention.

During our 30 minute time slot, we brushed most of the cows in the field. We learned their names and rubbed them and talked kindly to the cows. We took lots of pictures and gave some of the cows a nice hug and cuddle. Sometimes the cows are sitting down to rest, so people will be able to actually cuddle next to the cow. This was not our experience, but we hope that happens for you.

When our time was up, we walked back to the barn and got all the feed and fed the animals. This was not part of our time with the cow cuddle.
Safety
Please remember that cows are still unpredictable animals. They have been around people most of their lives, so they are generally friendly, but please follow all rules and guidelines to stay safe. We didn’t have any problems, but there were definitely a few cows that were not interested in being cuddled, so we avoided them. If you take young kids, make sure to keep a good eye on them so they stay safe around the cows.

What to Wear and Bring
You will be out in an open pasture, so there is no shade. Wear a hat and/or sunscreen. Wear closed toed shoes. You have to walk through some fields and dirt roads, and you will be happy you aren’t walking around in flip-flops. It was pretty hot the day that we visited, but we chose to wear pants. That way we didn’t have to worry about bugs or the cows brushing up against our legs. We saw others in shorts. So you decide what is most comfortable for you.
You don’t really need to bring anything other than a smile and a camera. There isn’t anywhere to wash hands, so you might want to bring a few wipes to use after your experience until you can find a sink and soap.

We had huge smiles on our faces after spending some time with the cows. Utah Cow Cuddle is a perfect date night or family adventure. We always love getting some special time with animals, and this was amazing. For more details on booking appointments or the cows, check out Utah Cow Cuddle’s page: Utah Cow Cuddle.
