Timothy Michael Dolan was named Archbishop of New York on February 23, 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI, who later named him a Cardinal in 2012. Previously, Cardinal Dolan was appointed auxiliary bishop of his home diocese in 2002 by Pope St. John Paul II, who one year later named him Archbishop of Milwaukee.Cardinal Dolan has served as President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, as President of the Catholic Relief Services, and as co-chair of the National Jewish-Catholic Dialogue.Cardinal Dolan’s education began at Holy Infant Parish School in Ballwin, Missouri, and he completed his priestly formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, where he earned a degree in Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas.It was also Cardinal Dolan’s honor to enter the conclave that elected Pope Francis in 2013.Cardinal Dolan is widely known for his conservative values and a charismatic media personality.
