Freedom is a rare and precious commodity. Our lives are blessed and filled with opportunity when it is present. Without it, life is often void of hope and happiness. How it is specifically defined and honored differs with each person. It can be cherished through one’s vision and drive to help create a community where freedom is treasured and celebrated. For another, it can be experienced in being transplanted to a place where they can overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. Freedom for some comes in finally finding their way back home and the desire to share their blessings with those whom they have found. And others only find joy in freedom as they are able to provide it for others. This year’s Freedom Awards will honor individuals who may define freedom differently, but who all find it deeply embedded in their heart.
