On Monday, Amanda and I headed over to one of Provo's hottest new burger joints, MOOYAH. MOOYAH has dozens of locations across the southern United States, but this is the first one to open in our great state of Utah.
We sat down with the owner, Shane Nielson, who has been in the restaurant biz for 15 years. He told us that he looked all across the country, from California to Connecticut, for the perfect restaurant to bring to Utah. Shane said he finally settled on MOOYAH for two reasons:
1. The quality of the food. Nothing is ever frozen, and everything is prepared in front of you as you order.
2. The fun atmosphere. There is a "moodle doodle" wall where kids can draw while they wait for their food, and there's a giant cowbell that guests can ring on their way out the door if they enjoed their food.
My personal favorite was the mural on the wall, as pictured above. Every MOOYAH restaurant gets a personalized mural reflecting the local community, and I thought this gave the restaurant a nice, hometown feel.
As I said before, the food is 100% customizable, and there are literally over 1,000,000 different meal combinations. Customers can choose from different types of fresh buns, five different types of cheese, and several different sauces. The "MOOYAH Sauce" is this restaurant's "secret formula," and it's as good as advertised. Add this sauce to your burger along with fried onion straws, bacon, fresh lettuce, and pepper jack cheese, and you'll savor every last bite.
MOOYAH also boasts two delicious fry options: fresh cut fries or sweet potato fries. And of course, no Utah burger joint would be complete without fry sauce, and MOOYAH has plenty to go around.
Shane said he loves the location of his new restaurant, right next to BYU and just minutes away from UVU. Customers at MOOYAH will always experience a fun, energetic atmosphere, so make sure to stop by and try it out for yourself.
