Utah Valley University Academics

Utah Valley University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. UVU also has vocational accreditation by the Utah State Office of Vocational Education.

UVU takes pride in its 200+ person faculty who are culturally, ethnically, and philosophically diverse. With so many faculty members, UVU has a student-to-faculty ratio of only 20-1.

With a strong program, and highly trained faculty, it is no wonder that In 2005, the Utah Foundation Report found that UVU Bachelor degree graduates earn more money than graduates from any other Utah college or university.

Achievements

Since 2001, UVU student teams have placed first or second overall in the national SkillsUSA competition. Each year, students from UVU place well in national Phi Beta Lambda and Delta Epsilon Chi business competitions. At the 2008 Phi Beta Lambda conference in Atlanta, Georgia, UVU students were awarded twelve top-ten finishes.

UVU's athletic department has earned many academic awards. In 2009, the Great West Conference released its Fall 2008 All-Academic honorees and 22 UVU athletes (from four sports) earned the recognition. In addition, Utah Valley University's wrestling team ranked sixth in the nation on the Division I All-Academic Top 30 Team.
