Themed Gardens

Designed by Utah landscape architect Leonard Grassli, the Thanksgiving Point Gardens are an exciting landscape of discovery, fragrance, and botanical beauty. Nestled within the sprawling grounds are 15 separate themed gardens, each specifically designed for aesthetic appeal.

 

Shepherd’s Hill

This garden spot is the entrance to the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. Mt. Timpanogos rises in the distance as guests descend through sycamores, poplars, and plum trees into a picturesque setting of natural beauty.

Grand Allee

Grand Allee

Stroll down a sloping hill bordered by flowering cherry and plum trees. The healthy green of the manicured lawn pairs beautifully with the colorful flowers beds.


Creek Garden
Walk along a winding creek trimmed with river rocks, flowing grasses, and cheerful flowerbeds against a backdrop of trees, bridges, and lush green grass.

 

 

Monet Garden Claude

Monet Garden

Monet’s water garden masterpiece inspired this garden which features a romantic bridge over a beautiful pond. The scene is perfected with lush water lilies, iris, peonies, and lotus flowers.

Rose Garden
Consisting of more than 1,200 rose bushes with 60 varieties, the Rose Garden is a romantic scene of abundant colors and cool arbors. Roses remain in full bloom from mid-June through September. Enjoy the rich fragrance and timeless beauty of this classic flower.

Koi View Pier
This water garden is home to colorful Koi fish, relatives of the common carp. The shore of this peaceful garden is bordered by ornamental grasses and flower varieties. Koi View Pier offers a kaleidoscope of color as the shimmering fish swim among the water lilies and hyacinths.

Vista Mound Garden
Follow a cobblestone path up to the Vista Garden to find a site of neo-classical column ruins. From this vantage point, guests are afforded a breathtaking view overlooking most of the Thanksgiving Point Gardens.

Fragrance Garden

 



The raised flowerbeds in the Fragrance Garden are centered around a beautiful gazebo to evoke the image of an old-century English garden. The plants and flowers here were specifically selected to provide a delicious aroma for visitors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Secret Garden

Secret Garden
Complete with a hidden enclave, the Secret Garden has been cultivated to look wild and mysterious. Visitors make their way through honey-suckle covered arches to a lovely brick-enclosed garden.


Butterfly Garden
Enter through a living willow arch to a colorful variety of flowers selected to attract butterflies. Follow a path that traces the shape of butterfly wings through bright flower beds.

Italian Garden

Italian Garden

Inspired by the classic Italian villa, the Italian Garden features 32 cascading water basins bordered with sculpted hedges. Relax on benches to appreciate the sleek designs and refreshing colors of this garden.

Prairie Garden
A scene of native grasses and perennials is artfully designed as an insight to Utah’s natural, undeveloped landscape.

Parterre Garden
The focal point of the Parterre Garden is a full-sized floral carousel of planter horses. On the ground, surrounding the carousel, are lacy floral patterns. Parterre is French for “on the ground.”

Waterfall Garden

Waterfall Garden

The Waterfall Garden has 7 separate cascades, is 65 feet high and 600 feet wide, making it the largest man-made waterfall in the Western Hemisphere. The waterfall is the backdrop for the amphitheater and also a vantage point from which to view the gardens.

Mountain Garden
Within the setting of the waterfall cascades, a mountain landscape is created with pine, sumac, and aspen trees. Along the pathway are native perennials, grasses and wild roses for a Wasatch Front experience.
