Mountain Biking
More than 25 miles are available to ride on a single track with a mountain bike. Sundance offers challenging terrain with breathtaking vistas. Trails are designed for uphill and downhill riding and ranges from intermediate and advanced riding. Sundance’s mountain challenge for experienced riders is riding the 1,200 vertical feet from the base to Ray’s Summit.
For those who are new, the Sundance Mountain Bike School offers courses to teach how to safely ride on mountain terrain.
Rules that mountain bikers must follow:
• Helmets are required while riding at Sundance
• Uphill riders have the right of way
• A liability waiver must be signed at the beginning of the season
• Cyclists should yield to other trail users
A Trail-Only pass is an option for uphill riders. For $12, a rider receives unlimited access to the well-maintained single track. The pass is good from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and includes a single lift ride for an end of the day lift to relax. To purchase the pass, get it from Sundance Mountain Outfitters.
There are a few dates from May to September when the mountain will be closed or partially closed due to biking events. Call Sundance for more information.
