Promoting Your Event in Utah Valley
Now that you've worked hard to plan your event, it is time to ensure that everyone knows about it.
There are many ways to promote your event, some more pertinent than others.
Word of Mouth:
This is the most common form of promotion because information spreads
easily through people talking to each other. Provide exciting details
and information about the event location, and the news will spread like
wildfire as attendees get excited for the upcoming event!
Social Networking Sites:
Not only is this a great communication channel to promote your event through, but
social networking sites are generally low cost and very efficient at
spreading the news quickly. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flicker are
just a few of the most popular sites available for use.
Writing press releases and then sending them to newspapers, radio
stations, television and other websites is a great way to get your
event publicized to a larger audience. Depending on your event, it may
even be a good idea to invite journalists to your event to get some
media coverage. See examples of press releases.
Listings in Community Newspapers and Websites:
Many people check their local event listings to find out what is
happening in their community. This is a great channel to promote your
event if you would like local community members to attend.
Sponsors or Partnerships:
While you help your sponsors and partners by promoting them to your
event attendees, they can also assist in promoting your event. Develop
strong relationships with them to potentially open more doors for
promoting your event. Become a UVCVB partner
