Utah Valley is excited to announce the new Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo.

Construction began in the summer of 2010, and the Convention Center is anticipated to open March 2012. A green meeting space, the facility will complement the ambiance of downtown Provo while providing top-notch functional meeting and event space. Event attendees will be amazed at the scenic backdrop with beautiful views of the Wasatch Mountains.

Groundbreaking Ceremony - (15 June 2010)

The groundbreaking ceremony of this green meeting space took place on the future site for the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo. Over 230 people were in attendance including state officials, community leaders, architects, business leaders and the general public for this momentous occasion. Speakers included Kelly Ward of Zions Bank, Joel Racker of the Utah Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, Provo City Mayor John Curtis, Utah County Commissioners  Larry Ellertson, Gary Anderson and Steve White as well as Utah Lt. Governor Greg Bell.



 

Basic facility layout for the Convention Center:

  • The Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo will be a LEED Silver certified building which means that everything during the design, construction, operation and maintenance will be environmentally friendly. This certification as a green meeting space will entice a variety of groups to host their events in an eco-friendly building.
  • The Convention Center will have 46,740 square feet of sellable meeting space.
  • The first floor of the Convention Center will include a Visitors Center as well as an Exhibit Hall which will be 19,620 square feet.
  • The second floor will have a full-service kitchen (about 2,000 square feet) as well as a ballroom which will be 16,894 square feet. This will be the largest ballroom in the county.
  • The third floor will have divisible meeting space and break out meeting rooms with a total of 10,226 square feet. Additionally there will be an open garden patio (5,500 sq. ft) to accommodate various functions.
  • As needed, Convention Center plans include additional phrases for future expansion.
